And I have a plan

It’s almost exactly 17 weeks until the Boulder Backroads Marathon/Half-Marathon. Since the marathon experience was not fun, but the first half was beautiful, I just registered for the Half-Marathon. It is sad but true that for me motivation follows the money. The exorbitant fee was paid to register & thus I need a training plan.

I modified a 17 week training plan to fit my Tuesday and Thursday Bikram Yoga schedule. Since I haven’t been running much, this plan should ease me back in without injury. There is not much strength training here but I really want to give the Bikram at least twice a week. I know some folks do well with multiple training session per day, but I need to be honest with myself. What is the minimum that I need to get me ready for this run? What will I realistically commit to and stick with? I know that I need to run at least 3 days a week: some sort of long run, some sort of tempo/hill run and some sort of plain vanilla run.

This plan starts officially on Monday. I will weigh and measure tomorrow AM (yeah for PMS), likely get a short run in and goto Bikram in the afternoon.
