Time Flies

These days, my consume to create ratio is about 95 to 5. Most of my creative activities now happen at work. And even when I stumble across the incredibly impactful work of others, while I may share them internally with my colleagues or close friend, I haven’t been taking the time to journal or write publicly.

I thank the Art of Manliness for giving me the freedom to stop journaling! Amazing article here. I write down annual goals and check them every quarter or so, but for the most part my life is good. I just don’t have that much I’m stewing about that I need to think through “out loud.”

Today I stumbled across an interview with Marshall Goldsmith. I loved his 2007 book, What Got You Here Won’t Get You There: How Successful People Become Even More Successful, and also enjoyed his 2010 book Mojo: How to Get It, How to Keep It, How to Get It Back If You Lose It. I won’t say I’ve been an avid follower – I’ve missed a few recent books, but I remember appreciating his perspective back when I was still emerging (stumbling my way through) in leadership roles.

It’s worth the investment of time to watch/listen.
